vbartilucci asked: In the afore-linked chat about The Doctor's Wife, you give your opinion of the Corsair's fate. How does it feel as a writer when people are so desperate to see more of a character you created, they will spend inordinate amounts of their time finding ways to subvert, change or modify the fates you chose for them?

Surely that’s the joy of fan-fiction? Subverting, changing and modifying characters’ fates in ways that make you happy.

How does it feel as a writer when people do this? It feels great. I’m thrilled the characters I’ve created are real enough that people want to do this sort of thing to and with them. (Just do not ever expect me to read it.)
