socially-sane asked: This morning I received my rejection letter from Clarion West, as well as four usual rejections from agents, all within a span of about an hour. Clearly, this is a sign that I'm the cosmic plaything of the international book cartel. But on the off-chance that I'm just having an unfortunate Saturday, I ask: how did you deal with rejections, back when you still got them? (Other than writing more, I mean--that goes without saying).

First I got really grumpy, and then got very determined to write things that were so good that not even the stupidest most irritating gatekeeper alive could reject them.
