Cumbric, the Brittonic language previously spoken in parts of Scotland and the 'Old North’ of Northern England can still be found in many northern place-names and even some dialectal words used to this day. The Cumbrian counting system is even still used by some shepherds in the Lake District despite the language itself dying out in the 12th century.
