Pilot Preppy from JetPens in the US - they’re extremely cheap, and the nibs are great, though they’re not as sturdy as more expensive ones. They hold an airtight seal with the cap better than many more expensive pens and can be left filled a long time without drying out.

Lamy Safaris only take proprietary cartridges, while Kaweco Sports and Pilot Metros, comparably priced, take standard international cartridges and you can fill them with any bottled ink you want. However, the converters for bottled ink in the Safari work very well and the ones for the Sport are extremely spotty because it’s so small. Personally, I hold a grudge philosophically about the rudeness of proprietary cartridges, though.
