You grew up during two major vampire crazes (the 90s with Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Anne Rice, and various others), and then the Twilight craze of the 2000s. How do people miss that Silas is a vampire? It’s like not realizing the protagonist of The Sleeper and the Spindle is Snow White, or that Moriarty is the Sherlock-like character in A Study in Emerald.
