ineffably-good asked:
I’m the person who asked earlier about the picture of David and Michael - people have been sending me upset messages about why I’m trying to stir up trouble and how dare we ask these kinds of questions and I just wanted to say - my only thought was that this might have been ✨a cut scene ✨ of some kind since they were obviously in costume and Michael still has a kind of “aziraphale” look on his face. I was making no claims that it was actually David and Michael having an argument. Hope it didn’t seem disrespectful and I apologize if it did!
People are intense 😂
They certainly are that. I don’t know where you found the picture but it’s a paparazzi shot of David and Michael leaving the location where they had been shooting the Windmill Theatre scene – the giveaways are that Crowley is wearing his 1941 costume and yet you can also see the modern day location umbrellas to keep the cast dry. It wasn’t any kind of cut scene (I don’t actually believe there were any cut scenes in Season 2 – we trimmed all the fat in the scriptwriting process).

Finally came up with something to ask you:
What is your opinion on Lovecraft? Not him as a person, but his stories and themes. I.E. have you read and do you enjoy Lovecraft's works?
I have absolutely read HP Lovecraft, and even wrote an introduction to a volume of his stories (it’s collected in The View from The Cheap Seats). There’s also a documentary about Lovecraft in which you can find people like me and Guillermo Del Toro talking about who Lovecraft was and what racism, antisemitism and misogyny have to do with it.
aziracrow-e asked:
Hi Neil!
Is *clue* the nickname for Crowley? Or why did Crowley keep complaining while Aziraphale keep saying *clue*?
Love from China x
No, clue is not a nickname for Crowley.
Crowley complained because he felt that Aziraphale was acting as if he was in a detective story.
snoozylooking asked:
Neil, if it isn’t too much trouble, I’ve got a question.
(Yeah ik that’s what the asks is for but I don’t know how to navigate tumblr yet)
So I’m sitting in the living room with my parents and my mom was talking to my dad about AI writing scripts. So I said something about the strikes. Then, she was talking about her “blind items”, (she reads the shi non-stop) and how it said that there is some sort of loophole in the contract that makes it so they can still use AI and not hire writers. I haven’t been as caught up with that stuff as I’ve wanted to be, so I didn’t really have a response for that. Since I know you’re very involved in this topic, I somewhat trust your word over my mother’s.
Perhaps your mother read some AI generated news? It’s not true.
From Wired:
In short, the contract stipulates that AI can’t be used to write or rewrite any scripts or treatments, ensures that studios will disclose if any material given to writers is AI-generated, and protects writers from having their scripts used to train AI without their say-so. Provisions in the contract also stipulate that script scribes can use AI for themselves. At a time when people in many professions fear that generative AI is coming for their jobs, the WGA’s new contract has the potential to be precedent-setting, not just in Hollywood, where the actors’ strike continues, but in industries across the US and the world.

I cannot thank you enough for reading click clack the rattlebag tonight, it’s my favourite of your short stories and also my favour spooky story in general, I very much hope your knee feels better as soon as possible!
Thank you!!
lunchbox-for-gays asked:
I find it very funny that you looked at David Tennant, in colored contacts and blackout sunglasses essentially making him blind, and said "yeah that's definitely flammable." And now I have to sit at my desk and blankly stare at the ceiling about how everyone in the history of ever loves Michael like a puppy and would not hesitate to crucify David if given the chance. Lovely little observation.
The only alternative would have been to set the Fennec Foxes playing Crowley on fire, and none of us were prepared for that kind of cruelty to animals.
jens-ruby-floof asked:
Neil Gaiman are you trolling us about the Bentley's seat color and missing bullet holes? 😭 The fandom is obsessing over this and I accidentally caught some secondhand obsession over the differences. Anyway love you so much, thanks
No. I checked with Sarah-Kate, our producer, who told me that there were different seat covers in the shell-Bentley interior to match the correct Bentley exterior with the correct seats, and that any changes in seat cover from shot to shot is probably just a result of the grading process. On the bullet holes, she reckons that the window was probably wound down.
By “to match the correct Bentley exterior with the correct seats” do you mean the seat covers change to black while Aziraphale is driving to Edinburgh?
No, I mean that there were two different interior seat covers, one that of the original Season 1 Bentley (which in Season 2 was used in the episode 4 1941 flashback sequences) and one to match the regenerated Bentley of Season 2.
about to drop literally the sickest insider knowledge you will ever receive pls use it responsibly:
are you a teenager? do you wish you had the space & resources & organization to do a thing, whether that’s an anime club or a movie night or a big craft workshop or creative writing group or literally whatever? would you like to do your thing totally for free? yes?
okay, then bring it up to a librarian
seriously, teenagers are the absolute hardest group to engage at most libraries & we’ll often organize programs that absolutely no one will show up to & it sucks. if you go up to a public librarian & say “hey, some friends & i want to do this thing. does that sound like a feasible teen program for the library?” most people will move heaven & earth to pull it off for you because we know there’s an interest in our community. we will go balls to the freaking wall to make it happen
do you want a cosplay contest? a video game tournament? a free escape room? bring it up to the library. it’s not a burden or an annoyance at all. it’ll be like christmas came early for us
