A belated Happy Birthday to my friend Neil Gaiman, who inarguably has a way with words and is also a few years younger than me. I had the pleasure of collaborating with Neil on The Sandman: The Kindly Ones (many birthdays ago for both of us). This privately commissioned sketch alas suffers from a flawed scan – it’s missing some of the lighter pencil shading – hence my hesitation in posting in a more timely manner (sorry, Neil). Anyway, hope that your birthday was endlessly delightful!
