Hi Mr. Gaiman!

Was doing a bit of a study on your screenwriting “style” in Good Omens. I am incredibly impressed by how little actions lines were used. I found it incredible you were able to achieve a flow with such simple, yet— perfectly described action lines.

My question is: In terms of working with the larger crew (production designer, sound designer, actors, etc), was using such limited action lines because you wanted others to expand upon your ideas in the original book and/or bring new ones to the table?

Also! When do you feel that an action line (apart from scene headings + setting descriptions), is necessary and how do you go about dissolving the important details into just a single sentence?

Thank you for your time! I cannot wait for Season 2!

No, I just would rather keep it simple and understandable and give everyone else making the show room to contribute.
