Hi Neil, I've just rewatched season 1 of Good Omens in preparation for season 2 and it reminded me of a question I had when it first aired. Why is the narrator God? In the novel the narrator refers to God in the third person. If I remember correctly the only time God speaks in the novel is actually written by Aziraphale - a biblical correction which is itself just a foot note (although as an avid Discworld fan I think "just" might be an inappropriate term for Sir Terry's footnotes).

Because I needed to know who was talking, I think. And because it felt nice having God show up.

I love Terry’s footnotes in Good Omens. Mostly he wrote footnotes for my bits and I wrote footnotes for his bits. Unless we were writing footnotes to our own bits or footnoting the other one’s footnotes.
