Amanda “Mother Fucking” Palmer, and baby Ash, with a Machete.
Probably you are thinking, “So where was Neil when this photo was being taken?”
It was 6:30 in the morning. I was fast asleep. At some point a cold wet baby crawled into bed with me, along with his cold wet mama, and I woke up enough to notice they were back, and cold.
Allan Amato, who took the photo of Amanda and Ash here, climbed on the bed, and took a great photo of me soundly asleep, Amanda sort of going back to sleep, and Ash staring up at the camera with amazing two-tone-blue eyes.

Our latest P. Craig Russell art restoration campaign is now live! You can help to restore and preserve Craig’s original hand-colored art for “While the Gods Laugh.”
BONUS PRINT PERK: Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer held a show in Tampa, Florida on Valentine’s Day, 2015 and P. Craig Russell created the stunning art for a limited edition show print.
“Heartbreak Hotel” measures a glorious 10" x 25" and is printed on a luscious recycled matte stock. Comes personally signed by the artist.
Neil and Amanda kindly provided us with a number of the prints and we are using them as perks for our latest art restoration campaign.
The PCR-signed prints are available for a limited time via the following: http://igg.me/at/wtgl/x/718844
These were incredibly popular and sold out when we did them last year…
Amanda Palmer, eight months pregnant and exquisitely painted, recreates Damien Hirst’s Verity statue (top) in a performance art piece for the New York Public Library’s children’s book drive. Proud papa-to-be Neil Gaiman (bottom) extends a loving hand to this modern-day nude descending a staircase, after donating a copy of his own charming children’s book, Chu’s Day.
For more of Palmer’s beautiful bibliophilia, treat yourself to her bewitching poetry readings of Polish Nobel laureate Wislawa Szymborska.
It seems like a hundred years ago, she was pregnant. Now everything is baby…

The first thing I said about Amanda was
What I like best in the picture below is that Amanda Palmer is the kind of person who would run out for dinner with a bullet hole in the side of her head, and not worry about taking it off first.

amandapalmer and neil-gaiman at the Thornbury Theatre on the 23rd of January.
An amazing show that was thoroughly entertaining, followed by Amanda sitting and signing books for fans way past midnight, an impressive feat. Never before have I seen artists that care so deeply for their fans.
Please go and read Amanda’s book, a terrific piece on being an artist in the modern day and learning how to ask for what you need from those you love. It made me laugh, and cry, and has given me what I need be excited for art school instead of just a jumble of nerves.

What a beautiful photo! Nice job of capturing a moment, whoever took it.
Love this snapshot of Neil Gaiman, Amanda Palmer, and Art Spiegelman when Neil saw the first finished copies of Hansel & Gretel.
When you get YOUR copy, send us your book+selfie (shelfie?) too. You can message on FB, tweet it @toonbooks, or submit on tumblr!
