Were the Bentley and book store burning scene in Good Omens show shot with actual fire? If so then how did they know that they would get it one shot? Like wouldn't they have to burn more stuff to set up for another one?

I found some phone footage and uploaded it to YouTube. I’m not sure how long it will last there, because it may go away for copyright reasons, so you should probably check it out now if you want to see it…

And I realised I didn’t answer the other half of the question. But if you look closely at the photograph of the Bentley, you will see the gas pipes snaking off to the right. And if you look at the flames going up and down in the Bookshop you’ll realise that a) they are under our control and b) the smoke and the flames are two separate things.

The firemen in the shot are actors. The firemen out of shot (there were some standing next to me as I filmed) looked exactly the same as the ones in the shot, though.
