What is and isn’t suitable for teenagers

Hi Mr. Gaiman. I was wondering, what criteria, besides sex and violence, do you use for deciding what is or isn’t suitable for a teenager? - WW

Well, yes, teenagers generally like sex and violence, but mostly what I use is something more on the lines of, “Would I have found this interesting at any point between the ages of thirteen and nineteen?”

If I think I would probably have found it completely boring for that whole six year period, then it’s not suitable for teenagers.
