zardea asked:
Hello Mr Gaiman, I would like to know if there will be any scenes in Good Omens 2 where we get to see Aziraphale and Crowley’s wings? I always loved those scenes and would really enjoy seeing them again!!
I’m afraid I don’t answer questions about things that will or won’t be in Season 2, which means that the best way to find out if there are going to be any of those scenes in Season 2 is to wait until it airs and then to watch it.
xiamei asked:
Good omens never clarifies how Aziraphale really overcomes villains. Will we get to see him fight demons in Good Omens 2?
Normally, I’d just give this the normal “Wait and see” but somehow you’ve managed to trick me into telling you everything about season two. So yes. You will get to see him fight lots of demons. You’ll gasp at Aziraphale’s Kung Fu battle with Asmodeus in episode 2. You’ll wince at what he has to do in the Bay of Biscay to win in the Underwater Demon fight in Episode 3. You’ll marvel at the cunning battle with financial demons through a game of blackjack in the casino in Monte Carlo, followed by the escape on skis and the parachute getaway in Episode 4. After that there only remains the heartbreaking discovery that the Princess was in Another Castle in Episode 5, and the final battle against Satan himself in Episode 6, with Aziraphale using a battle mace, gardening gloves, and several power-up tokens. He will, obviously, win all of these fights. I hope this helps.

hi, if theres a series 3 of good omens, is it going to be everyone on earth fighting everyone in heaven and hell like it said at the end of series 1, or something like that? also is the role of god (other than as a narrator) going to be covered, like where she fits into everything that's happened? (I know you usually answer stuff like this with wait and see so i understand if you dont answer but I thought I might as well ask anyway)
Do you think there’s even the slightest chance that I’d answer with anything else than something that explains why I’m not going to answer questions like this? And if so, explain your reasoning.
Not the OP, but yes, I think there’s the slightest, most minuscule chance you would answer with anything other than something that explains why you’re not going to answer questions like this.
And here’s my reasoning: every once in an unfathomably great length of time, so great as to be uncountable and nameless and yet, not outside the realm of possible existence, an esteemed and beloved creative such as yourself just might, possibly, conceivably find himself in possession of such a tidbit of information that somehow, miraculously and beyond reason, actually answers a question and slips the surly bonds of any and every NDA that creator might have signed.
Thus creating the exceedingly rare yet joyous event of a tiny tear in the space-time continuum which translates to being a time and place in which this beloved creative would be able to present this holy grail of a tidbit to his ardent fans, thus securing their adoration and reverence even further while crowning that lucky fan as The Person Who Asked And Was Answered by The Man Himself and cementing their role in the fandom history forever.
Source: I was once crowned The Person Who Asked and Was Answered by The Man Himself in another fandom, as a result of a perfect alignment of several now-dead stars and a wayward planet allowing my Beloved Creative to have just been allowed to reveal a tidbit relevant to my question which didn’t compromise the production, but which did very much stoke the flames of fandom, which is precisely what we fans live for. Such moments become legend, giving rise to ever newer generations of fans who cherish the faint but real hope that this could one day happen to them, too.
While I don’t discount your experience with another creator, consider that it isn’t *only* ‘the big bad studio that is keeping NG from answering but *this is Neil (and Terry’s) *baby**. He would answer the same bloody way if he didn’t have an NDA. (And has said so in so many words when he’s stated (to paraphrase, I don’t have the link handy) 'I want everyone to enjoy this in as pure and surprising a way as possible’.)
Source: I read NG’s tumblr and he’s said the longer version of 'wait and see’ enough times for it to sink in.
Honestly, I don’t think I have signed any NDAs for Good Omens, but that’s because I’m the person making the people I tell the things to sign the NDAs.
It’s not about NDAs. I honestly don’t want you to know anything until the time is right, for the same reason I want the pages of a book printed in the correct order. (For the same reason I’ve not asked David Tennant Doctor Who questions and for the same reason David blandly and convincingly raised eyebrows and said “Is that so?” and “Well, I can’t wait to find out what Russell is going to do,” when Russell’s return to Doctor Who was announced when we were on set shooting Good Omens, when he obviously knew very well what Russell was going to do. I’m a fan. I want to be surprised.)
I don’t want to tell you too much because I don’t want you bored by it before it happens.
Occasionally, I’ll cheerfully answer specific things. But the kinds of questions that get a “Wait and See” are anything starting with “Will this happen…?” It’s the equivalent of kids in the back of a car asking “Are we there yet?” We aren’t there yet.
Good Omens 2 will be released in Summer of 2023, so, at a guess, we’re around eight to ten months out from the Bentley and Aziraphale and Crowley, Maggie and Nina, Muriel and Gabriel, Beelzebub and Shax and the rest of them appearing on your screens. Before that happens there will probably be a teaser video and that will tell you a few things about the season. There will probably be a trailer closer to the release date and that will tell you a few more things about the season.
Until then…
…wait, as patiently as you can. And I promise you’ll see. And the time will fly. And it’s worth waiting for.
charliewaltz asked:
Hi Neil,
Following-up on the question about inclusivity, do you plan to show a human queer relationship in the coming seasons? I love Good Omens, but the human world in S1 only showed cishet relationships.
Yeah, there’s an open discussion about whether the leads can be read as queer and which communities can claim them. But this is the problem with the queerness being confined to non-human characters. It’s Othering and any community’s identification can always be contested. There’s a great article about it here: https://electricliterature.com/we-need-more-non-binary-characters-who-arent-aliens-robots-or-monsters/
I hope you can see this is not yet another iteration of the “will the leads declare their love” question, which I know you can’t answer. Thank you for your time.
I’m not answering any questions about the plot of Season 2. Sooner than we all expect it will be up on our screens. I want you all to be as unspoiled about everything as long as you can be. If you wait, you will find out.
ineffablepirate asked:
Hi Neil!! I've asked this before but I'm pretty sure it must have been lost in a sea of questions so I'll try again. I am a massive Queen fan and having their songs in Series 1 of Good Omens was probably what made me love the show so much. I was wondering if we'd be blessed enough to hear their songs in Series 2 as well?
I’m pretty sure I’ve already answered that one. As much as I have answered anything to do with Season 2 content, anyway.
transboyhugs asked:
im a huge fan of your work and im super excited for good omens season 2, but i cant help to feel like we might be getting queerbaited with the good omens season 2 posts. i dont think its intentional, seeing as you are a great ally to the lgbtq+ community, but a lot of fandoms have the issue of being hinted at how there will be queer characters and then having little to no representation. i ask now: can we actually expect canon aziraphale x crowley? like, at all?
Let me try and answer you with as much patience and respect as I can muster, given the number of times I’ve answered this or questions very like it, before. And I think this will be the last time I answer this question, or variants of it.
You think you’re possibly being queerbaited, because I won’t answer any questions about the plot of the second season with anything more than “Wait and see”. (This is not my definition of queerbaiting, but that’s beside the point here.) So, either you’re being queerbaited or you aren’t. Given that I’m not telling you or anyone anything about the plot of the second season until it happens, the only way for you to find out whether you were being retrospectively queerbaited or not by me declining to tell you anything about the plot, is to wait and watch the second season.
For the record, I’m not not telling you the plot of the second season to queerbait you. I’m not telling you the plot of the second season because I want as many people as possible going into Season 2 as unspoiled as they can be. There hasn’t been a time when people didn’t know what was coming in Good Omens before. There is now. I love the story and I love what we’ve made, and I want people to experience it as much as possible without preconceptions or spoilers or anything really.
If you want to wait until it’s dropped, sometime in 2023, and then ask your friends to watch it, and let you know if it has enough queer content for you to watch it safely, then by all means do that.
But why not just wait and watch it, unspoiled, and then decide for yourself?
latitude24point5-blog asked:
Hi Neil! I'm enjoying the deliciously painful anticipation while waiting for GO2! Quick question: does Crowley ever eat? He definitely drinks, but I don't think we ever see him eat. Thanks!
It’s quite possible that he eats offscreen. Perhaps you will see him eat in Season 2. Perhaps not.
kenisle asked:
hi i don’t know if you’ve said/answered this before but i have to ask: do aziraphale and crowley hold hands at any point in season 2? just the thought of it makes me smile. can’t wait to see their next adventure!
I haven’t answered it before. This is because my answer to any questions about what’s going to happen in Season 2 of Good Omens is Wait and See.
